- Unregistered Version
- Why are the cards dealt in the same order
every time I play a game?
One restriction of the unregistered
version of the game is that you can only play one shuffle (except for
Klondike and FreeCell which allow all shuffle combinations). This
gives you a chance to try out the game before you buy. Once you
purchase the product you will be sent a registration code that will unlock
all shuffle combinations in the game, including over 2 billion shuffle
combinations.
- Why is the shuffle number the same every
time I play a game?
The shuffle number identifies the
order of the cards in the shuffled deck. The unregistered version
only allows you to play one shuffle (except for Klondike and FreeCell
which allow all shuffle combinations). This gives you a chance to try
out the game before you buy. Once you purchase the product you will
be sent a registration code that will unlock all shuffle combinations in the
game, including over 2 billion shuffle combinations.
- Display
- When I start the game I get a dialog box
telling me that I should set my display settings to high color. What
does this mean and how do I get rid of it?
To get the most
"visually" out of the game you should have your display set to
high-color (16-bit color) or higher. This is because many of the
backgrounds, decks, card faces, and skins look best when your display can
show more colors. This message is being displayed because your
display is set to 256-color (8-bit color) or lower. To stop this
message from appearing either click the "Do not display this message
again" checkbox or change the screen resolution of your display:
- Click the "Start" button on the
Windows task bar
- Select "Settings" and
"Control Panel" from the popup menu
- Double-click on the "Display"
program and then click the "Settings" tab.
- Change "Colors" to High Color or
higher and click OK or "Apply".
- The game time does not display or does not
display properly. Why?
Most likely this is caused by the
time properties in the regional settings for Windows has been set
incorrectly. To correct your time properties:
- Click the "Start" button on the
Windows task bar
- Select "Settings" and
"Control Panel" from the popup menu
- Double-click on the "Regional
Settings" program and then click the "Time" tab.
- Select the desired "Time Style"
settings from the combo-box and click OK or "Apply".
- If I turn scroll bars
off -- can I still scroll when the cards are not completely displayed in
the game window?
Yes. If the layout of the
cards is larger than the current window size you can scroll the
window. Use the left, right, up, and down arrow keys on your
keyboard to scroll the window.
- How can I stop the
confirmation dialog boxes from showing up whenever I quit a game?
There are two ways to accomplish
this. The first way is to turn them off in the Options dialog.
Select "Tools" and "Options" from the main menu.
Then select the "Confirmations" tab. From there select the
confirmations that you want displayed. The second way is to select
the "Do not display this dialog again" check box on the
confirmation dialog box itself.
- I downloaded and
installed some backgrounds, decks, cards, sounds, and skins but they
aren't listed in the customization dialog boxes. Why not?
The list of files displayed in the
customization dialog boxes is determined when the "Tools",
"Customize" menu command is selected. If you downloaded
and installed files while this dialog box was open you need to close the
dialog and reopen it again so that the list is refreshed. If the
files still do not appear in the list then it is possible that the files
are installed in the wrong directory. Customization files must be in
one of the subdirectories of the directory where the game is installed
(e.g. BGs, Sounds, Decks, Media).
