- Ordering Products
- I
have downloaded your game and would like to purchase it. What do I
need to do?
You can purchase a
registration code on the internet via a secure server. Or, if you
prefer, you can order by phone, fax, or mail. You can access the
order form by clicking on the "Order..." button in the dialog
box that is displayed when you start the game. You can also order by
accessing the order forms from our "Store"
page.
- When
I try to play I get a message telling me that my evaluation period has
ended. Why won't it let me play anymore?
You are free to play all of
our games during an evaluation period. The
evaluation period is to help you decide if you like the game before paying
for it. At the end of the evaluation period the game will no longer
allow you to play without a registration code. If you decide you
want to buy the game you can purchase a registration code by clicking on
the "Order..." button in the dialog box that is displayed when
you start the game. You can also order by accessing the order forms
from our "Store" page.
- I'm
not receiving the newsletter telling me about new products and
updates. How do I sign up for the newsletter?
You can sign up to receive
our newsletter on our "Newsletter"
page.
- Do
I need to download another version of the program once I purchase it?
No. The downloaded
version you have already been playing is all you need. Simply follow
the instructions to enter your registration code into the game and it will
instantly become the fully functional product.
- Registration Codes
- What
is the "registration code"?
The registration code is
the "key" that unlocks all of the features in the game.
Without the key you can only play the game during the initial evaluation
period. Most games also limit some of the features that are
available until the registration key is entered.
- I
received an E-mail with my registration code. How do I enter it in
the program?
The E-mail that you
received should have instructions on how to enter the registration code in
the particular game that you purchased. The easiest way to enter
your code is to select the "Register..." button in the dialog
box that is displayed when you start the game, and then select the
"Enter code..." button. Since the registration code is
long it is best to have open in your E-mail program the E-mail that you received
when you are going to enter the code.
- Why
is the registration code so long?
The registration code is
long (~173 characters) due to the copy-protection mechanism that we use to
protect the games. Encrypted into each registration code is the name
of the registered user and their E-mail address. No other personal
information from the order form is contained in it. To simplify the
entering of the registration code into the program you should have open in
your E-mail program the
E-mail that you received when you are going to enter the code. Doing so will allow you to use the
"Copy" and "Paste" features of Windows to expedite the
entry of the registration code.
- I
had to reinstall the product on my computer and now it won't let me play
the registered version anymore. Why not?
Most likely the information
that the game needs in order to know that you have registered the product
has been removed from the computer. You will need to re-enter your
registration code to unlock the game.
- I
lost my registration code. Can I get a new one?
Yes. Actually, if you
will fill out the "Registration Code Lookup"
form with as much information as possible we will resend your original
registration code at no charge.
- Registration Information
- I
recently changed my E-mail address. How do I update my information
in your database?
You can change you E-mail
address by filling out our "Change of
Address" form.
- I
recently moved. How do I update my information in your database?
You can change your
information by filling out our "Change of
Address" form.
- Downloading Files
- I
downloaded a game to my computer. How do I get to play it now?
After you have downloaded
the program you first need to install it. Simply run the program
that you downloaded (the setup program) and follow the instructions.
After running the setup program click on the Windows "Start"
button followed by "Program", "Rapture Technologies,
Inc", the game name that you installed, and then "Play".
- Can I give a copy
of the game to my
friends for them to play?
Yes! You are free to
share copies of the evaluation version of all of our games provided that
you do not share your registration code. Sharing of a registration
code is a violation of the license agreement. Please encourage your
friends to purchase their own registration code.
- Help File
- Every
time I try to look at the help for the game nothing happens or I get an
error. How do I fix this?
Our games use the Microsoft
Windows HTMLHelp viewer to display help files. This problem can
occur if your system either does not have the HTMLHelp viewer installed or
has an older version of the HTMLHelp viewer. You can download the
latest update to the HTMLHelp viewer from Microsoft at msdn.microsoft.com/library/tools/htmlhelp/wkshp/hhupd.exe.
- Every
time I try to look at the help for the game I get a message that it can't
find the help file. What's going on?
Most likely you did not
install the help files when you ran the setup program or the help files
have been accidentally deleted from your system. Simply re-run the
setup program and select the option to install the help files. Don't
worry if you have already entered your registration code for the game --
it will remember it.
- Sound Problems
- I
don't hear any sounds when I play a game. How do I get the sounds to
play?
First check if sounds work
with any other Windows programs. If so then check that sounds are
enabled in the game. If the game has a sound customization dialog
then make sure that all sounds are enabled and assigned to a sound
file. If you do not hear any sounds in other Windows program then
check that the speaker volume is turned up and that the Windows mixer
settings do not have the volume turned off.
